Ranchu is a specific species of goldfish (Carassius auratus), which is known for its characteristic appearance. This fish was bred in Japan and is popular among aquarists and lovers of decorative fish. Ranchu has a short and rounded body, short flippers and a distinctive bumpy shape on the head. Perhaps that is why it is so sad.
