Patch Monkey Yokai

According to Japanese legends, an old monkey can transform into a yokai – a supernatural being capable of speaking human language. Some are wild and dangerous, while others are more mischievous and enjoy playing pranks on people. This monkey-like creature is enjoying the dengaku ritual dance, a traditional Japanese dance associated with festivals and ceremonies.

The design is inspired by the world of Hyakki-yako, the nighttime procession of yokai, when, according to legend, spirits and supernatural beings set out on a collective pilgrimage after dark. The patch is embroidered with great attention to detail, and the white threads glow softly in the dark.

The patch comes directly from Japan and can be easily attached to clothing, a bag, or an accessory – simply stick it on or iron it on.
