Patch Kajiri Cat

A mottled cat is holding a dried bonito fish with both paws and chewing on it. The patch is inspired by a woodcut by the ukiyo-e master Utagawa Kuniyoshi, who created the Myokaiko Gojusanbiki series in the Edo period. Utagawa's woodcut is a parody of Hiroshige's Fifty-three Stations on the Historic Tôkaidô Road. Kuniyoshi likened the 53 stations to 55 comically twisted cat gestures.
